Drafts for your leaders to review and adopt. Not legal advice. We recommend review by an attorney licensed where your church is located before adoption.
In many small churches, the same faithful few count the offering, pay the bills, and keep the books, often for years. Policies may be missing, decades old, or borrowed from a much larger church. Nobody intends anything wrong, but that is exactly how honest people end up exposed and how good churches end up in hard conversations.
You don't need a 60-page manual or a full-time administrator. You need a few clear policies that fit your size and your governing documents, so your leaders can serve with confidence and your members can give with confidence.
Scripture speaks to orderly church life (1 Corinthians 14:40) and to handling shared offerings in a way that is above reproach (2 Corinthians 8:20–21).

Every Policy Pack document:
Everything we make is meant to point to God and serve His church. We aim to use AI for His glory, always under human oversight, and a person reviews everything before it reaches you.
Send us your constitution or bylaws (and any existing policies) through a secure upload.
We use AI as a careful tool, under human oversight, to tailor each draft to your polity, officer titles, and governing documents. Your documents are never used to train AI models.
Before delivery, a person reads every draft and checks that it fits your documents, meets our standards, and honors God. Nothing goes out on AI alone. This is not a legal review.
You receive editable drafts with notes on decisions to make. Our goal is for every document to stand on God's word first and to be applicable to any and all churches. Before final adoption, we recommend having each one reviewed by a local attorney and CPA or accountant licensed in your church's own jurisdiction (state, province, or country).
Well-Ordered Church was started by Byron Adams, a member of a Reformed Baptist church who has helped put sound financial and governance policies in place. Byron is a military officer, and his full-time work is in cybersecurity at Microsoft. Between the two, he has found a passion for protecting people, and he created this tool to further the kingdom of God. Well-Ordered Church is his personal venture, not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. Byron is not an attorney or accountant, so every template is a draft for your church's own locally licensed advisors to review. His aim is simple: to help small churches be well-ordered (1 Corinthians 14:40), so leaders can serve with confidence and members can give with joy.
Many churches, especially outside the United States, have faithful leaders but no access to sound governance and financial policies. You can change that.
Sponsor a Policy Pack for a church that couldn't otherwise afford one. We'll match it with a church on our waiting list, anonymously by default, and let you know when it's delivered, with a short note about where it went (never names or private details).
Our commitment: every quarter, 10% of the Policy Packs we deliver go free or deeply reduced to under-resourced churches, and at least half of those go to churches outside the US. Sponsored packs are added on top of that commitment, never counted toward it.
Sponsor a church: Coming soon
Well-Ordered Church is a for-profit business, not a charity. Sponsorships are purchases of services for another church and are not tax-deductible.
Is this legal advice? No. Our documents are drafts and educational resources. Our goal is for them to stand on God's word first and to be applicable to any and all churches. Laws differ by state and country, and we don't have experience in every jurisdiction, so we recommend each document be reviewed by a local attorney and CPA or accountant licensed in your church's jurisdiction before adoption.
Can churches outside the US use this? Yes. We serve churches anywhere in the world. The templates are built on biblical principles and widely used governance practices; churches outside the US should have a local attorney and accountant adapt them to local law. Churches in real need can request a sponsored pack at no cost. Templates are in English for now, with more languages planned.
Will this work for our church's polity? Yes. The Voting Rules include congregational, elder-led congregational, and session/presbyterian options, and every document follows your governing documents where they differ.
Do you take sides on doctrine? No. We link to your confession rather than interpreting it, and we leave doctrinal and pastoral questions to your elders and pastors.
What happens to the constitution we upload? We use it only to prepare your drafts. It is kept confidential, never used to train AI, kept for 12 months after delivery (or while an Annual Review subscription is active), and deleted within 30 days if you ask.
Do you use AI? Yes, as a careful tool. The whole service is designed to point to God and serve His church, and we aim to use AI for His glory with human oversight. AI helps tailor drafts to your documents, a person reviews every draft before delivery, your uploads are never used to train AI, and your leaders and your locally licensed attorney have the final say.
We're very small. Is this overkill? The drafts are designed for churches under about 150 people, with options that work even with a handful of leaders and volunteers.
How much does it cost? The checklist is free. Policy Pack details are coming soon.
How do I reach you? Email [email protected], including to report a correction to any document.
Can my church get help if we can't afford a Policy Pack? Yes. Every quarter we set aside 10% of the Policy Packs we deliver for churches with limited means, at least half of them outside the US, and other churches sponsor packs too. Email [email protected] to ask. We don't ask for financial statements, just an honest word from a church leader.
How does sponsoring work? You purchase one or more packs for another church. We match them with churches on our waiting list. Both sides stay anonymous unless both agree otherwise. Sponsorship opens once checkout is ready.
Is my sponsorship tax-deductible? No. Well-Ordered Church is a business, not a charity, so sponsorships are purchases of services and are not tax-deductible.
Will anyone know our church received a sponsored pack? No. We never share your church's name or details with sponsors or anyone else.
